The voice in the Transistor is just that - a voice with no body to take action. But I feel like I missed a lot of it because the game by design wants to cling to it's information like a miser. Once I found a good combination, I abused it just to get through the combat. To be downright honest, I found the combat to be a chore. I like the game, but not enough that I want to play with it's mechanics for hours just to have the story and world fleshed out more through tedium. Granted, all games do that to some degree since you have to beat levels to get more.
